You know you’re from Illinois when......

-Your school classes were canceled because of cold.

-Your school classes were canceled because of heat.

-You’ve had to switch from “heat” to “A/C” in the same day.

-You end your sentences with an unnecessary preposition. Example: “Where’s my coat at?”

 

-If you have worn shorts and a snow boots at the same time

 

-You know several people who have hit a deer.

 

-When you say “the city” - you mean Chicago. 

 

-“Vacation” means going to Six Flags, Wisconsin Dells, or Lake Michigan

 

-You don’t pronounce the “S” in Illinois like the rest of the world. 

 

-You pluralize grocery stores and retail chains: “I’m going to Jewels”; “I bought it at Targets”; “I couldn’t find parking at Wal-Marts”; I’m going to “Meijers”

 

-You’ve seen it snow in April..or October

Haha, jag har alltid sagt Illinois utan s på slutet och har aldrig ens varit där eller i USA för den delen heller? :o haha.
